Hubble Detects Emerging Decagonal Wave at Saturn’s South Pole

Hubble OPAL observations indicate a newly emerging, vertically extended decagonal atmospheric wave around Saturn’s south pole, distinct from the planet’s established northern hexagon. The feature appears to be strengthening, but its origin, stability, and long-term behavior remain unknown.
