Beam tests whether frontier-scale open-weight MoE models can become practical

Reflection AI has announced Beam, a reported 501B-total/23B-active MoE for coding and agentic workloads with a claimed 1M-token context and major compute savings. The planned Apache 2.0 release is expected later in October 2026; weights, documentation, deployment requirements, and independent evaluations will determine its significance.
