Rwanda agreement brings Formula 1 back to Africa

Formula 1 has agreed a 10-year deal for Rwanda to host a Grand Prix in the early 2030s, potentially at a new Grade 1 Bugesera circuit. The race would be F1’s first in Africa since 1993, but its debut date, construction timetable and calendar feasibility remain open questions alongside sportswashing criticism.
