A small Texas city’s institutions, resilience, and arts on display
Waxahachie Community Pride in Action
Waxahachie’s Nicholas P. Sims Library is being celebrated for a century of service, earning the prestigious 2025 IMLS National Medal and putting the town’s public institutions in the national spotlight. At the same time, residents are rallying around a local business after a fire destroyed the historic Blind Pig building, underscoring the community’s tight-knit support network. Cultural life is also thriving, with Waxahachie High School hosting regional Winterguard performances that highlight youth arts and local school spirit.
