Avalanche Open Season with 8-4 Win

Colorado defeated the Los Angeles Kings 8-4 on September 30, led by Nathan MacKinnon's two goals and fight, Artturi Lehkonen's two power-play goals, and Brock Nelson's three-point Avalanche debut. The offense and power play were immediately dangerous, though four goals allowed and two shorthanded tallies exposed defensive, puck-management, and goaltending concerns. New recap, video, and statistical coverage confirms the result but adds little new information.
