Image Comics Pulls from GlobalComix; Sweet Shop Emerges as New Digital Home
Image Comics is pulling all new comics from GlobalComix after a 3-year partnership. Sweet Shop becomes the de facto day-and-date platform for Image releases, with a strong anti-AI, anti-VC stance. Oni Press and BOOM! also left GlobalComix. Meanwhile, AfterShock signed a digital backlist deal with GlobalComix as part of its post-bankruptcy recovery, indicating platform consolidation continues. New: GlobalComix also signed FanFan Comic, a digital manga publisher, ahead of Anime NYC. A recent industry survey confirms digital's stable ~5-10% share for most publishers, with DC seeing growth from Absolute Universe.
