Mal Evans’s 95,000-word memoir is reportedly due December 1. Biographer Kenneth Womack says it devotes page upon page to the Beatles’ August 1965 meeting with Elvis and conveys Evans’s admiration for Elvis as a musician; coverage also repeats the spoon-made guitar-picks anecdote. The full account has not yet appeared, so its historical value remains to be seen.
