Los Gatos-Saratoga policing partnership remains unsettled

LGMSPD is advocating a possible 2027 policing arrangement that would add 16.5 positions and materially affect Los Gatos finances, staffing, patrol capacity, and Saratoga response times. A recent department ceremony highlighted one sergeant and one captain promoted, five officers sworn in, and a records specialist joining, but these personnel changes do not confirm expanded patrol capacity or an agreement; concerns about cost, transparency, feasibility, and Flock ALPR access remain.
