Hurricane Nolo/Lowell threatens catastrophic flooding in Hawaii

A hurricane watch and severe forecasts are in effect as the storm approaches Hawaii, especially the Big Island. Forecast rainfall approaching 30 inches, extreme flash-flood risk, mudslides, coastal impacts and possible prolonged outages create an immediate threat to residents, travelers, emergency services and infrastructure.
