Church Establishment and Monarchy’s Role in Christian Nationalism

Church of England leaders including Arun Arora, Sarah Mullally and Bishop Mallett have condemned fascist or far-right nationalism, intimidation, anti-migrant protest and misuse of Christian symbols. Debate continues over the term “Christian nationalism”, Rowan Williams’s critique of Farage and Robinson, King Charles’s generic “space for faith” language, discriminatory church appointments and whether Britain’s church-state settlement could facilitate Reform-linked religious nationalism.
