Rivian buys AI world-model team to advance autonomy plans

Rivian acquired a 15-person AI world-model startup team, identified in reports as Third Dimension, to support driver-assistance development and its planned Uber robotaxis. Rivian’s reported 400,000-plus daily driving sequences could support simulation of rare scenarios, but deal terms, deployment timing and financial benefits are undisclosed. The strategic promise remains to be demonstrated.
