Google tests orbital TPUs as a speculative alternative to terrestrial AI capacity

Alphabet's Suncatcher roadmap centers on a planned SpaceX rideshare test using radiation-tested TPUs, roughly 1 kW of solar power and optical links, with possible satellite-cluster expansion. The project could eventually address terrestrial power and land constraints, but launch, cooling, reliability, communications, replacement and utilization economics make it a long-term experiment rather than a near-term earnings catalyst.
