Kidnappings of Foreigners in the Philippines

Two recent incidents: three Westerners and a Filipino woman abducted from a resort in southern Philippines (no further details); and a Korean businessman abducted in Manila (Malate) and released after 5 days. Statistics show 5 abductions in 2023, 1 in 2024, 3 in 2025. Ongoing violent crime risks for foreigners.
