Pokémon's Renewed Global Anime Expansion

Disney+ has secured a major global Pokémon deal covering the original Ash-era anime and Aardman's 21-episode Pichu stop-motion series planned for 2027. Separately, Pokémon: Wild Card is slated for 2027 as the franchise's first worldwide theatrical anime film in seven years, with CloverWorks, director Katsuhiko Kitada, and character designer Akemi Hayashi attached; its teaser foregrounds a trading-card-game player and Mimikyu.
