Sony Formalizes Crunchyroll's Cross-Format Creator Strategy

Sony Pictures Entertainment has launched Crunchyroll Storyworks to develop anime and live-action adaptations in collaboration with Japanese creators, connecting Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Pictures and HAYATE. The initiative could reshape global adaptation and distribution pipelines, but currently has no named projects or delivery schedules; a related PS5 Crunchyroll hub is planned for spring 2027.
