Nationals Reset 40-Man Roster Ahead of Deadline

Washington designated Jose Tena and Mitchell Parker for assignment; Atlanta claimed Parker, who is recovering from internal-brace surgery for a Grade 3 UCL sprain and may not return until late 2027, if at all that season. Paxton Schultz went to Cincinnati, Waldron survived the cuts, and PJ Poulin cleared outright waivers and was assigned to Triple-A Rochester. Outcomes involving 60-day-IL players and any further moves remain incompletely established.
