Harry Ford's Development Shapes Nationals Catching Plan

Ford’s first year with Washington fell short offensively, while his strong walk rate and modest defensive metrics offer positives; his development remains central to the 2027 catching plan. Riley Adams has signed a minor-league deal with Boston after spending all of 2026 in Triple-A, further thinning Washington’s depth. Ruiz trade speculation remains unconfirmed, and Millas’s availability is uncertain; reported shoulder issues may help explain Ford’s power loss, but that connection is not established.
