Haaland Rested for Brighton Cup Tie; Expected Back for League Match

Maresca said Haaland was among five players given three days off after the Villa defeat and reported no injury. Haaland missed Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie against Brighton, which City won on penalties after a 2–2 draw; previews predict he will be available for Saturday’s league match, but his return is not confirmed. Previews repeat his seven goals in seven league appearances against Brighton and note he has scored in four straight league meetings without winning any of them.
