Route 9 paving and bridge work expected to add Hyde Park-area congestion

A roughly six-mile Route 9 resurfacing project is scheduled to begin the week of October 19 between Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie, with nighttime lane closures for four to eight weeks and completion projected for September 2027 after a winter pause. Additional Mid-Hudson Bridge work and overnight restrictions are expected to compound fall and weekend congestion affecting Route 9 and Poughkeepsie-Highland travel.
