MLS clubs officially return to 2027 U.S. Open Cup

MLS confirmed that all 27 U.S.-based clubs will enter the 2027 U.S. Open Cup at the round-of-64 stage after a four-year absence. July scheduling, a December final, larger squads, expanded eligibility and improved prize money are intended to limit Leagues Cup conflicts and improve access and stakes for lower-division and amateur teams.
