Citrus Heights is spotlighting community spirit with open nominations for the 2026 Chip-In Hall of Fame Award, honoring residents who go above and beyond in volunteer service. Neighbors are invited to connect in person at a March 9 community potluck and a free ‘Backyard Bash’ spring concert series kicking off in April at the Marketplace at Birdcage. Local businesses are joining in as Aquarium & Reptile Depot marks its 13th anniversary with customer appreciation events, while a regional effort is turning surplus backyard citrus into food for those facing insecurity.
