Major Maryland Redevelopment: VIVA White Oak and Former Six Flags Site
VIVA White Oak planning is becoming more concrete: its first phase could include about 1,000 apartments, townhomes, a Costco, and a town center, within a broader plan for approximately 4,400 residences, lab and office space, and jobs. Public financing could reach $420 million, while infrastructure, affordability, traffic, execution, and community impacts remain unresolved; the former Six Flags site is likewise still preliminary and contested.
