Olathe School Board Approves Six School Closures

The Olathe Public Schools board voted unanimously Oct. 2 to close five elementary schools and Indian Trail Middle School after the 2026-27 school year, while consolidating Fairview and Ridgeview elementary schools. About 2,200 students are affected; a petition seeking a state advisory review is collecting signatures, while boundary maps, transportation, staffing, special-education arrangements, and transition plans remain under development.
