Richmond and Henrico Reconsider Flock License-Plate Cameras

Richmond will allow its Flock license-plate-reader contract to expire in July 2027 rather than renew it, according to the mayor, while Henrico has also canceled its contract. The decision follows continuing concerns about surveillance, data use, retention, cost, regional coordination, and the need for independent oversight or an alternative vendor.
