Sony and Lionsgate Split Naruto Film Rights

Sony will co-finance and distribute Destin Daniel Cretton’s Naruto internationally, while Lionsgate retains development, production, and U.S. domestic distribution. The arrangement followed reported competitive bidding, but financing terms, U.S. release plans, and marketing coordination are unknown; production is targeted for spring 2027.
