Lake Tahoe recreation fees, trails, wildlife and public-land policy

Tahoe grading season ends Oct. 15, requiring permitted sites to stop grading and winterize. South Lake Tahoe opposes proposed glyphosate spraying in the Caldor burn area ahead of a Nov. 3 vote, and a Nevada trails survey remains open through Nov. 30; golden-mussel, microplastics, trail, wildlife and public-land policy concerns continue. Keep Tahoe Blue received a $30,000 grant for conservation, education and volunteer monitoring; proposed Forest Service fees could begin in spring 2027.
