Washington respiratory-illness season may be starting early

Thurston County has reported its first flu death of the season, months earlier than last season, while flu-like and other respiratory emergency-room visits are reportedly around 11% in early October. Flu activity is rising, COVID remains in circulation, and measles concerns make vaccination, testing when symptoms overlap, staying home when ill, and timely medical guidance especially important.
