Escambia school book removals draw scrutiny

After 256 books were removed using another district’s list, “The Devil’s Arithmetic” was reportedly slated to return to middle and high school shelves after board member Bergosh intervened. An 11th Circuit ruling permits board members to be deposed over the removals, treating the acts at issue as administrative; other discovery and privilege questions remain unresolved.
