DRC Ebola and Regional High-Consequence Outbreaks
The DRC Bundibugyo-strain Ebola outbreak remains a PHEIC and is described as the fastest-growing outbreak on record. Reported totals vary substantially because of delays and under-ascertainment; Uganda is outbreak-free, but Ethiopia’s Marburg outbreak, Austria’s CCHF case, Chile’s first clade Ib mpox case, and continuing CCHF surveillance in Türkiye underscore persistent regional high-consequence outbreak risk.
