Luis Castillo's Changeup Revival Plan
A deep dive revealed the White Sox are working to revive Luis Castillo's elite changeup, which declined under Seattle's slider-heavy approach. The GM and pitching coach are directly involved. After a rough debut (5 runs in 4 IP), Castillo bounced back spectacularly on Aug 12, striking out 10 over 7 shutout innings against the Reds with 22 whiffs. The changeup revival appears to be working, and if sustained, it could be a huge boost for the rotation.
