Auburn responds with 31-21 SEC win over Vanderbilt

Auburn's Sept. 26 victory gave Alex Golesh his first SEC win and ended the Tigers' long SEC home losing streak. The blocked-punt touchdown, four sacks and better protection were encouraging, but Vanderbilt's fourth-down success, Auburn's slow starts and defensive lapses make the win an initial correction rather than a full solution. Auburn now begins a difficult stretch with Tennessee and six ranked opponents among its final eight games.
