Atlantic Tropical Activity Increases

The Atlantic is showing signs of waking up with two tropical waves and a 50% chance of a storm forming within 7 days, per the August 6 tropical update. However, a hostile Saharan Air Layer (SAL) environment suggests no immediate threat to North Florida. NOAA has further lowered its hurricane forecast due to El Niño. No current threats to Tallahassee, but continued monitoring warranted.
