Lane County Fires and Reckless-Burning Arrest

A man was arrested Aug. 25 and charged with reckless burning in connection with an Aug. 18 west Eugene grass fire; investigators identify him as a person of interest in other west Eugene fires. Other active concerns include possible arson at Skinner Butte, a 16-acre Springfield grass fire, and an approximately 80-acre fire near Hills Creek Reservoir that caused a campground closure.
