Hawai‘i falls to Stanford after late collapse in Week 0 opener

Hawai‘i lost 37–27 at Stanford on Aug. 29 after rallying from a 23–7 deficit and taking a late fourth-quarter lead. Alejado’s 269 passing yards and the comeback were encouraging, but his fumble, defensive breakdowns, protection shortcomings, Barfield’s ankle injury and multiple special-teams errors shaped the defeat; attention is now turning to UNLV.
