Port Expands Beyond the Classic Blue-Cheese Pairing
Port continues to emerge as a flexible entertaining bottle rather than only a dessert wine: white Port with tonic, thyme, and pear suits aperitif service, tawny Port complements creamy sheep’s cheese, and vintage Port works with aged Gouda-style cheese. A Port-and-cheddar cheese ball adds a practical make-ahead format, but is duplicative and does not materially broaden the pairing story.
