Federal production incentives become a Hollywood competitiveness issue
Trump’s proposed federal film and TV tax incentive, reported in some accounts at 15–20%, has attracted support from SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, Teamsters, the MPA, and bipartisan lawmakers. The proposal is intended to counter production migration overseas but remains aspirational, with no settled legislation, funding, eligibility rules, or evidence yet that it will materially change AI-enabled production economics.
