Yordan Alvarez’s MVP Season and Long-Term Astros Future

Alvarez is an AL MVP finalist after hitting .316 with 42 home runs, and is also a Silver Slugger finalist; the MVP award announcement is scheduled for November 12. Commentary raises extending or trading him with two contract years remaining and suggests the end of 2027 as a decision point, but that is the author’s framing, not a confirmed club deadline. No extension or trade signal is established.
