Historic rain brings flooding, displacement and road closures across Omaha metro

Recovery continues after 5–8 inches of rain caused roughly 50 Omaha rescues and more than 80 water-rescue calls. Gov. Jim Pillen requested a federal disaster declaration after damage assessments exceeded $23 million; approval and assistance remain pending. Bellevue honey shop Beauty and the Bees has replaced 30 of 35 flood-lost hives, a small recovery milestone; the report is undated.
