North Omaha standoff and aftermath

Thursday night standoff at 24th & Lake after Westroads shoplifting pursuit. Suspect Bass barricaded with gun, children inside, SWAT, K9 Kano strangled. Bass charged with 13 counts. Follow-up: LaShawna Jones lost her home to police damage; city compensation questioned. K9 Kano now home recovering.
