Phillies begin offseason roster and free-agent evaluation

Philadelphia is assessing seven impending free agents, payroll flexibility and possible personnel turnover after the Wild Card elimination. Luis Arraez's .310 season, his fit with Bryson Stott and Alec Bohm's defensive uncertainty are central decisions, while Trea Turner's .242 average and .675 OPS add to concern about the expensive core. Harper's warning that the 2027 club will look different supports expectations of targeted change, but no negotiations or transactions have been reported.
