Mattingly's managerial future remains unresolved

Reports continue to predict that Don Mattingly could leave after the Wild Card loss, potentially through a mutual or graceful parting, with Alex Cora identified as a candidate. New speculation says Cora may take a family trip and skip the 2027 season, weakening an apparently obvious replacement path. Player support, Mattingly's 79-55 regular-season record and the lack of official confirmation leave the decision unresolved.
