China to open government IP data for AI and commercial use

CNIPA and the National Data Administration plan to make government-held intellectual-property data available for commercial applications, industry model training, research, and policymaking. The initiative could strengthen sector-specific AI development, but operational access rules, data-quality standards, and privacy safeguards remain unclear.
