Rays Make Game 3 Platoon Choice, Starting Vilade Over Aranda

Kevin Cash started Ryan Vilade over Jonathan Aranda against left-hander Robert Gasser, calling it a matchup decision rather than punishment for Aranda’s Game 2 defense. Aranda’s .678 OPS against lefties and Milwaukee’s right-handed bullpen options factored in. Commentary has questioned the choice and the decision to sit Liam Hicks, but no new lineup or roster update is reported.
