Lazaro Montes promoted for major-league debut

Seattle has confirmed the promotion of power-hitting outfield prospect Lazaro Montes for an expected Sept. 1 debut against Boston. He hit 38 minor-league home runs with a .927 OPS and should receive regular right-field/DH opportunities, but his roughly 30.7% strikeout rate and uncertain defensive fit make his September impact difficult to project.
