Salem task force develops data-center policy recommendations

A city task force is working on recommendations after receiving 775 public survey responses, with strong interest in limits addressing water, energy, noise, accountability and community benefits; draft recommendations are expected in December. Oregon has also paused certain data-center air and wastewater permits through July 2027, potentially affecting Verrus’s Oakline at Mill Creek proposal, though Salem land-use work may continue and the project’s status and local impacts remain uncertain.
