Western Michigan hires Alex Gary as athletics director

WMU has appointed Alex Gary as vice president and director of athletics, replacing Dan Bartholomae. Gary's background in fundraising, facility projects, revenue generation and athletics leadership could shape long-term football support and departmental priorities. He is expected to start October 9, with an introductory press conference scheduled for October 1.
