Transit disruption, funding crisis and regional infrastructure costs

VTA light rail remains suspended at four Mountain View and Sunnyvale stations because of an overhead-power problem, with bus bridges and no firm restoration date. A regional analysis warns that failed funding measures could produce substantial service cuts, closures, frequency reductions, delays, and congestion; Measure RTM may reach the November 3 ballot. Palo Alto Link is scheduled to end October 30, while I-280 wildfire-safety work will add weekday lane closures through summer 2027.
