Election administration disputes raise new questions about federal power
DOJ seeks to set aside ballots for more than 20,000 Californians it calls likely noncitizens, reportedly acknowledging it cannot verify the list before the election. A separate Democratic lawsuit challenges alleged federal pressure on voter rolls; Nevada’s disputed list reportedly fell from 16,000 names to 185, whom state officials found to be citizens. These disputes and the Alaska suit remain unresolved, and allegations do not establish ineligibility or wrongdoing.
