Utica police investigate deceased infant found at waste facility

Police are investigating after an infant’s body was found in the sorting area of the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority facility on Sewage Plant Road. The Major Crimes Unit is involved, but identity, circumstances, cause and manner of death, and any public-safety implications remain unknown.
