Aircraft-parts shortages remain unresolved: 66% of surveyed maintenance organizations expect conditions to worsen, while OEM delays drive interest in PMA, DER repairs and used serviceable material. GE's higher LEAP deliveries alongside persistent 737 MAX and A320neo backlogs show that engine availability continues to constrain OEM output, fleet planning and aftermarket economics; IATA estimates the disruption has cost airlines $11 billion.
